Der gemischte Chor der University of Santo Tomas-Singers wurde im Jahre 1992 gegründet. Er besteht aus Studenten und Absolventen der verschiedenen Fachbereiche der königlichen und bischöflichen Universität von Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippinen.
In den nunmehr sieben Jahren als fester Bestandteil der internationalen Chormusik-Szene, vermochte es der Chor sich als einer der weltbesten Chöre zu etablieren. Gerade die Fähigkeit sich in fünf Jahrhunderten Chormusik gleichermaßen auszudrücken ermöglichte ihm den Gewinn vieler internationaler Preise.
Neben den Chorwettbewerben in Gorizia (Italien), Tours (Frankreich) und Lindenholzhausen in Deutschland ragt die Teilnahme am 47th Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod in Wales imn Jahre 1995 heraus. Die dortige Verleihung des Titels "Choir of the World" stellt einen Meilenstein in der Geschichte asiatischer Chormusik dar.
Die Teilnahme am "Gran Premio Citta di Gorizia" beim 37. "Concorso Internationale di Canto Corale "C.A. Seghizzi" in Gorizia, Italien berechtigte die UST-Singers als bester Chor unter 21 Chören zur Vertretung Gorizias beim 11. Europäischen Grand Prix der Chormusik in Varna, Bulgarien im Mai 1999.
Die diesjährige Welttournee begann im April mit Auftritten in verschiedenen Bundesstaaten der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika. Von Juni bis November 2000 tourt der Chor durch Europa und wird als Höhepunkt auf der Weltausstellung 2000 in Hannover auftreten. Darüber hinaus sind weitere Teilnahmen an Festivals und Chorwettbewerben im Programm.
Kunst und Völkerverständigung - Botschafter der Freude und der Freundschaft - das ist der Auftrag der University of Santo Tomas-Singers.

Founded in 1992, the University of Santo Tomas Singers is the University's premiere mixed choral ensemble composed of a select group of students and alumni representing the different colleges and faculties of the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.
In the course of seven years in the international choral music scene under the baton of Professor Fidel Calalang, Jr., the Choir has achieved both national and international acclaim as one of the top choirs in the world. The UST SINGERS has built a repertoire of competent interpretations covering significant parts of the choral literature of the last five centuries, paving the way to the group's triumphs in various international choral competitions in Europe. Since its first European tour in 1993, the group has earned to prizes in Gorizia (Italy), Tours (France), Lindenholzhausen (Germany), Tolosa (Spain) and North Wales (United Kingdom).
In 1995, the UST SINGERS won the Choir of the World Grand Prize at the 47th Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod in Wales, United Kingdom. This milestone made them the first and only Asian choir, to date, to attain such prestigious honor in the entire history of the Eisteddfod - the oldest international choral competition in the whole world.
The UST SINGERS bagged the 1998 Gran Premio "Citta di Gorizia" at the 37th Concorso Internazionale di Canto Corale "C. A. Seghizzi" held in Gorizia, Italy, besting 21 international entries which entitled the UST SINGERS to represent Gorizia at the 11th European Grand Prix of choral singing held in Varna, Bulgaria in May 1999.
The Choir has just concluded its two-month concert tour of the United States of America which covered the cities of Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Philadelphia, Washington, Toledo, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee and San Francisco. Proceeding with its World Concert Tour, the UST SINGERS is currently in Europe to take part in the World Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany and once again participate in various international choral festivals and competitions.
